You may often experience things about Windows 10 that become weak, especially those who receive Windows 10 by upgrading according to Windows 7 or 8, there will undoubtedly be a poly once bug.
In this post, I will share how to speed up a slow Windows 10 so that it is lighter and not slower. We only need to do a little tweaking on the important parts that most determine the performance of our Windows 10.
How to increase the speed of Windows 10
1. Remove unneeded default events &old programs
When installing Windows 10, there are a lot of built-in (native) events that are automatically installed. Some of the grands of this event are actually not too much we need.
Moreover, if you receive Windows 10 using an upgrade based on Windows 7 or Windows 8, there will definitely be a poly once built-in event of an outdated version of Windows that is still “stuck” but can no longer be used on Windows 10 due to compatibility issues.
To improve the performance of our Windows 10 to make it faster, these events try to be deleted. You need to know, although we don’t run this default event, most of it will be on-load when Windows 10 starts.
These programs will take away our RAM and CPU resources that should be able to be allocated for other, more important work. This can only cause Windows 10 to be slow, especially if the minimum specifications for Windows 10 are mediocre.
To delete default events that are not important can be done through the Apps & Features menu. How to enter it by typing “apps” in the Windows search bar column then select Add or remove programs.
After entering the Apps & Features dish, you will see a long list of programs contained in your Windows 10. In this dish all the built-in events will be visible, please choose which one you need less then click Uninstall.
After it is felt that all unnecessary built-in programs are removed, you can also check in the Control panel > Programs and Features. There may be some old eventsthat are no longer compatible with Windows 10. You can delete it to free up more poly disk C space and ease the RAM load.
2. Reduce startup programs that are not crucial
The 2nd step to overcome a slow Windows 10 is to reduce the startup time-consuming programs.
When Windows boots up, all startup programs will automatically be loaded. If it is too poly then it can cause our Windows loading to be slow when we first turn on the laptop.
To overcome this, we must turn off the startup program which is not too crucial. The trick is to open the Task Manager > enter the Startup tab > highlight the event you want to turn off > click Disable > Restart PC.
Please sort it out yourself about which startup program is burdensome loading Windows & not too crucial, then turn it off entirely.
Some programs that require a synchronization process when first started, for example Dropbox and auto-updater, should be turned off based on startup, because it can make Windows slow to turn on.
3. Turn off the power saver plan
The next way to increase the speed of Windows 10 which is slow is to turn off the power saver feature in your laptop’s power options settings.
This power saver feature is indeed useful for saving battery so that it lasts longer, but this feature will also automatically reduce the performance of our Windows 10 by turning off services that the system believes are not important. This could make Windows a little slower based on its generality.
The way to turn it off is to use the Control Panel > Power Options > Move the tick according to Power Saver to Balanced.
After that, you may need to restart the laptop first so that the changes can be felt. Later when expected, for example, when the laptop battery drops or is on the go, this power saver feature can be turned on home.
4. Disable transparency and animation effects
Windows 10 does come using a sweet design & animation impact, but sometimes its presence actually makes our Windows system heavier. Especially if the specifications of our laptop or PC are mediocre, then these influences that are actually not very important are actually able to make Windows slow.
To overcome this, we need to turn off the animation impact feature in Windows 10 which we don’t need. The first thing that needs to be turned off is the Transparency effects feature, this feature serves to provide an invisibility impact in the Appearance of the Start menu and windows native Windows, not too crucial.
The way to turn it off is to open the Themes and Settings menu > Colors > turn off Transparency effects > uncheck the option Show accent color on the following surfaces. Next we also need to turn off the hyperbolic animation impact so that our Windows can load faster. These impacts only give an animated touch to the appearance of windows and bars in Windows.
The way to turn it off is to use the Advanced System Settings menu. Just type “advanced” in the Windows search bar then select the View Advanced System Settings presentation. Later a new vent will open, click on the Advanced > tab in the Performance > click Settings > select the Visual Effects tab > check the Adjust for best performance option > OK
After clicking the OK button, maybe your Windows will take a while to turn off the impact of the animation, just leave it until it is resolved. if there is a not responding, just wait, it will disappear by itself.
After the process is complete, you may see the appearance of Windows which is flat & there is no animation impact, but maybe you will also taste Windows which is faster &lighter based on the previous because the RAM & CPU that was previously used for animation can now be allocated to other applications.
In addition to turning off the animation feature, you are also advised not to use heavy Windows 10 themes. I recommend using the default ones only, don’t install themes according to subtle sources.
5. Turn off the search indexing feature in Windows Explorer
Windows 10 automatically indexes the files contained on our hard disk. This process runs in the background so that we can’t see it.
In theory, this search indexing allows us to search for files on the hard disk more quickly. But for those of you who have mediocre specifications, this feature sometimes actually creates slower loading of Windows 10 based on what it should be. Especially if the archives on our hard disk are already very poly.
To increase the performance of Windows 10 as faster we can turn off this search indexing feature. You do this by going to the Services dish, pressing the Windows key + R > type services.msc
You will see the poly once service on the Windows system, pull it down until you find a service called Windows Search > right-click > select Properties > General > in the Services section status click Stop > OK
Restart the computer first.
Then enter the Indexing Options presentation, how to type “indexing” in the Windows search bar then select Indexing Options > Modify > remove all checks on the Change selected locations option > OK.
In addition to turning off the search indexing feature, we can also speed up the loading of Windows Explorer using turning off the Automatic Folder Type Discovery feature. This feature also has a bug that causes Windows loading to be slow.
